Whakauae Research Services would like to welcome new senior Māori researcher Lewis Williams to its research team.
Lewis recently returned to Aotearoa after a 14-year stint in Canada. On Sunday 28th January, a pōwhiri was held at Rata Marae where Lewis, her mum and friend Clare were welcomed on by senior members of the Whakauae team, iwi leaders and kaumatua. On the following Monday, a mihi whakatau was held at our offices in Whanganui to introduce Lewis and her whānau to other members of the Whakauae team.
Born in Aotearoa New Zealand and of Ngāi Te Rangi (Māori) and Scottish descent, Lewis holds a PhD in Social and Cultural Studies from Massey University and a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Auckland, New Zealand (see her profile on our Whakauae Team page).
We look forward to working with Lewis and the vast experience and knowledge she brings with her.
