Whakauae celebrated their ten year anniversary at the Hui ā Iwi held at Rata Marae on Sunday 26th June 2016. The wharenui was full with members of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Hauiti, whānau and local community, and the kaimahi of Whakauae. To commemorate this achievement Whakauae shared a brochure that portrays a number of milestones that occurred over this period and the past Director Dr Heather Gifford spoke about the highlights of the journey. Taonga were given to our rūnanga, board members and staff to acknowledge all the support and hard work over the past ten years. He mihi nūnui ki a rātou ngā tangata tiketike, ngā tangata whakahirahira, koutou i whakatō te kākano ko Whakauae.
